Arnold Klein

Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) Arnold Klein is in charge of Department 81, which is the end of the line for strange cases that just do not fit anywhere else. He has been is was named SAIC of this department in 2005 under rather unusual circumstances. He was young for the job, but some unknown benefactor within the FBI saw to his appointment.

Arnold knows what is happening in the world and has become a confident of Randall Palmer, a White Council Wizard who owns the Midnighter's Club in downtown Baltimore. While he may not fully understand the small details, which he believes Randall still withholds from him, he knows enough to protect the city as best he can and see a measure of justice is done when the supernatural step out of line.

Arnold did not want to hire Bryan McDowell, but his paperwork came across from the same benefactor as his own appointment. He worries that someone is manipulating the department in a way that is not for the safety and security of the American People. He is keeping Brian under a tight leash until he can fully vet him personally.

Arnold got hauled up in front of a special congressional panel in March 2007 due to the events caused Agent McDowell in Philadelphia.
