Heilsing

Heilsing is a secret Knightly Order of Britain. The number of people that have been knighted into this order or work for members of this order is known only to the highest members of the British Royal Family. The order works only for the crown (not the British government) although its leaders are given great leeway in their operations - which is monster hunting.

The members of the order are highly trained and equipped with the best weapons available - from modern assault rifles to crosses and holy water. This order is rarely ordered to take the offense and kill large numbers of monsters where they are known to hide as that would cause an all out war. Instead, they work to keep the monsters at bay and instead focus their attention on those that step out of line.

While they are based in Britain and answer only to the crown, they have been given free reign to pursue violent monsters across the globe. Their presence is most felt in those nations that were once part of the British Empire.
